Enrollment Ages
Students approaching their fourth birthdays through adults are welcome to enroll.
Instruments
Alamance Strings offers violin and cello lessons.
Lesson Format
Students attend both weekly private lessons and biweekly group lessons.
Lesson Schedule
Private lessons are held Monday through Friday afternoons during the hours of 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Group lessons are held on Thursday afternoons.
Group Lessons
Group lessons augment, not replace, the private lesson.
Each enrolled student is assigned a group lesson section based on age and experience level.
Regular group lessons attendance is required to participate in studio events.
Performances
Most studio events are held either on Thursday evening or on Saturday.
Each year Alamance Strings holds a December Group Concert, February Winter Workshop, March Fiddle Fun Day, and May Spring Solo Recital.
Typically there are additional smaller performance opportunities through out the year as well.
Tuition
Enrollment in Alamance Strings is an annual commitment.
Tuition rates are based on all studio activities and events over the course of the year.
Tuition may be paid by the year, school term, or by the month.
Tuition rates start at $175 a month.
Policies
Make up lessons are not available.
Parent Involvement
Lessons within the Suzuki Method are a dynamic, vibrant relationship between the student, the parent, and the teacher.
A designated practice parent is required to attend all lessons, group lessons, and activities with all students under the age of 14.
Instrument Size
Size and functionality are the most important features in a student instrument.
Please wait to obtain an instrument until advised by your teacher.
Instrument Rental
Most families enjoy the benefits of renting an instrument locally.
Two local options are Artley Violins in Gibsonville and Swanson Violins in Hillsborough.
Virtual Lessons
Online lessons are available to currently enrolled students in the event of illness or inclement weather.
Enrollment solely online as a virtual student is not currently available.
